The Program Recommended Course Sequence (pre- 2005) |
The Program The Master Program at Emperor's College is a comprehensive educational program in Traditional Oriental Medicine encompassing Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Chinese Internal Medicine, Western Medical Sciences and therapeutic exercises such as Qi Gong and Tai Qi. A Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MTOM) is awarded upon successful completion of 2220 hours of classroom instruction and 950 hours of clinical practice. Within the clinical program, 50 new patients must be seen and 250 treatments must be given. To progress through the curriculum, students must pass periodic exams as well as a Mid-Curriculum Exam prior to their internship. At the end of the third year of full-time study, students are eligible to take the Comprehensive Examination. Passing the Comprehensive Exam is required for graduation. Striving to balance the educational achievement and spiritual growth of each student, our belief is that true healing comes from a practitioner who is able to combine solid academic knowledge and skills with a compassionate heart.
