Venice Family Clinic Founded in 1970, the Venice Family Clinic has grown from a small storefront operation into the largest free clinic in the United States. They currently provide a medical home for low-income men, women, and children who lack health insurance. The clinic is free to the public and the need for treatment is great. The acupuncture program at Venice Family Clinic started in September 2004 at the beginning of Emperor’s fall quarter. Four interns provide treatments every Tuesday from 8am to 12:30pm to at least 20 patients. They are supervised by Don Buck, L.Ac. who is an experienced practitioner, a member of our first doctoral class and a native Spanish speaker. Since the recent start of the Acupuncture clinic, the conditions being treated with Traditional Chinese Medicine have branched out significantly. This is a testiment to the escalating level of integration and respect between eastern and western medicine.
